National Australia Bank
National Australia Bank is one of the four largest financial institutions in Australia in terms of market capitalization, earnings, and clients.
National Australia Bank was originally established as National Commercial Banking Corporation of Australia Limited in 1982 from the merger of National Australasia Bank and Sydney Commercial Banking Company. It was later renamed National Australia Bank.
In 2008, National Australia Bank began to invest $33.5 million in a corporate responsibility initiative with the goal of devoting 1% of pre-tax cash income to this sector. In 2009, NAB was made the largest workplace by Fairtrade in Australia through the purchase of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for their offices and retail branches. National Australia Bank became one of Australia's largest carbon-neutral companies in September 2010 and became one of the 500 global companies in the 2010 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.
In 2019, NAB was ranked as the 21st largest bank in the world by market capitalization and 52nd in the world by total assets. As of January 2019, National Australia Bank operated 3,500 Bank Post locations including over 7,000 ATMs across countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Asia with over 9 million customers respectively.
