Robert Garvey, a native of New York and certified pizzaiolo, owns and runs Robert's, a restaurant where the ideal crust and pizza that "when folded, cracks but does not shatter" are obsessions.
Robert's hasn't been around long, so it doesn't quite have the same charm as, say, Vito & Nick's or Marie's, but the menu is good and the pizza's lovely doughy taste is indisputable. In spite of the fact that they often are more gimmick than anything else, pies with "cup and char" pepperoni and Robert's seafood pie are always good choices. From braised fennel and dates to truffle cream sauce bases, a variety of toppings are available. On your walk out the door, don't forget to pick up a loaf of Robert's Fresh Za Bread. It only costs $5 and is chewy and wonderful.
