Vito & Nick's

Located in the Ashburn area on the city's south side for more than a century, Vito & Nick's began seriously making pizza in 1946, immediately following the end of World War II. With the assistance of co-owner Nick Barraco's mother, the pizzas were made in accordance with a traditional Sicilian recipe that emphasizes high-quality ingredients, correctly seasoned sausage, and a closely-guarded family dough recipe.


Today, Vito & Nick's has established itself as a destination for generations of Southsiders who grew up adoring the crispy thin crust as well as for food superstars like Guy Fieri and Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, both of whom have given the pizza raving reviews. The cash-only establishment's inside is completely unattractive, and the restaurant's exterior isn't particularly noteworthy either. But don't be misled: Some of the tastiest pizzas are served in the strangest places.
