Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum
In San Jose, California's Rose Garden district, at Rosicrucian Park, you may find the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum (REM), a museum devoted to ancient Egypt. The Old Mystical Order Rosae Crucis established it (AMORC). The Rosicrucian Order has remained committed to advancing the museum's programs for learning and research. In the Western United States, the museum, which is close to the Rosicrucian headquarters, has the biggest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
In 1999, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum launched the itinerant "Women of the Nile" exhibition, which was supported by numerous lectures. Up until 2001, "Women of the Nile" toured the entire country of America as well as Canada. Similar shows featuring a stone statue of Cleopatra VII from the collection were held in Rome, London, and Chicago between 2000 and 2002. The statue of Taweret, the goddess of childbirth and pregnancy in ancient Egypt, which resembled a hippopotamus, was formerly located at the entrance but has since been moved to the side.
