San Jose Flea Market
George Bumb Sr. established the San Jose Flea Market in the Berryessa neighborhood of San Jose, California, in March 1960. While working in the solid waste and landfill industry, he had the notion to start a flea market. The San Jose Flea Market was founded at 1590 Berryessa Road in San Jose, California, by George Bumb Sr. after touring trade fairs in Los Angeles and Paris' Thieves Market for ideas. A former meat-processing facility that he purchased for 120 acres (49 ha) was transformed into a market with just 20 initial sellers and 100 daily visitors.
For the past 59 years, the San Jose Flea Market has been a popular destination for residents. It contains numerous eateries, as well as alleys and aisles filled with just about anything you can think of. literature, stereo equipment, and jewels. While you stroll about and take in the extensive choices, the kids can amuse themselves on pony rides, a carousel, and a small Ferris wheel. With free live music on the weekends, there is entertainment for the whole family. With paid parking, admission is free.
