Take a stroll down Main Street in Utah's capital to see a spectacular display of skyscrapers and yellow foliage. Salt Lake City is an excellent place to visit to enjoy conveniently accessible fall colors. Within the city, Liberty Park and Memory Grove Park have late-season autumn leaves, as does City Creek Canyon. Head to Millcreek Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, and Little Cottonwood Canyon for lengthier walks and breathtaking autumn foliage. One thing to do in Salt Lake City is to walk along Temple Street, beginning at Temple Square, and appreciate the 12 blocks of stunning architecture framed by autumn foliage.
Fall is also a busy season for events in Salt Lake City, such as Oktoberfest at Snowbird (August to October). The Utah State Fair in September is great for exciting activities and local goodies, as is the Urban Arts Festival, which has street art and dance, and the Squatters Beer Festival, which has been going on for 30 years. The Salt Lake Farmers Market (June to October) is a great place to meet farmers and producers and sample fresh fruit, pies, jams, and other local food.
