The Chemin de la Corniche
A corniche is a road or path that is carved into a mountainside when one side of the land is sharply rising and the other side is descending. "The most beautiful balcony in Europe," according to one critic, is the magnificent Walls of the Corniche (le Chemin de la Corniche) in Luxembourg City. The large Gate of the Grund, built in 1632 and towering over the old city in the river valley below, may be found here. Its ramparts display a number of aristocratic residences and hiding places, as well as the historic Dominican convent and St. Michael's church (987 CE). This is one of the Best Places To Visit In Luxembourg.
The Grund neighborhood and the Alzette River are visible from the Chemin de la Corniche. There is a public elevator to easily transport you down if you want to explore them more. Neimnster Abbey is visible just on the other side of the river. The Natural History Museum and other stores and eateries along the Alzette are also located in the Grund.
The church and historic Abbey of Neumünster are located in a sizable building complex in the suburb of Grund itself. It is notable for having a 14th-century "black virgin," a 1720 organ, and a Limoges cloister from the 17th century. The nearby structures are a part of the historic Hospice St.-Jean, which was established in 1309 by Emperor Henri VII, Count of Luxembourg. The Chemin de la Corniche offers one of the most picturesque treks in a lovely city. There isn't anything not to like about a stroll here, and you could come back multiple times while you're here.
