The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
A 1977 American animated musical anthology film titled The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was created by Walt Disney Productions and released by Buena Vista Distribution. It was first shown on March 11, 1977, as part of a double feature with The Littlest Horse Thieves. It is the 22nd Disney animated feature picture.
Content from three previously published animated featurettes that Disney created based on A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh novels, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1979), served as the inspiration for the movie (1974). The three featurettes were connected with additional content, allowing the stories to flow into one another.
To wrap out the movie, a fourth, shorter scene that was initially created for Blustery Day was included (based on the presence of Jon Walmsley as Christopher Robin). The chapter of The House at Pooh Corner where Christopher Robin must leave the Hundred Acre Wood behind because he is starting school served as the inspiration for the sequence. The youngster asks his bear to vow to remember him and to preserve some of the memories of their time together as they talk about the activities they enjoyed doing together in the story. Pooh consents to do so, and the movie ends with The Narrator promising to be there for Christopher Robin no matter where he goes.
