The Nomad
The Nomad is one of the Best Design Hotels In NYC. With interior design by French architect Jacques Garcia, this Beaux Arts building from the turn of the century in the Flatiron District has been brought back to its former splendor. The NoMad's sumptuous beauty is laced with wacky bohemian details, such as tapestry-covered furniture, fading Persian rugs, a 200-year-old marble fireplace, and an antique staircase. It is in a terrific position near Madison Square Park and the Meatpacking District.
King-size mattresses, original artwork, reclaimed maple flooring, and custom-made furnishings, such as leather armchairs and antique mahogany writing desks, can be found in each of the 168 modest rooms. Some of them also provide breathtaking views of Broadway and the Flatiron, in addition to freestanding clawfoot bathtubs. Not to be missed are the cocktails at the exclusive Elephant Bar, where you may enjoy a Manhattan while watching a resident magician perform. This bar is home to an award-winning mixologist.
