  1. Ocean City, which is both affordable and kid-friendly, specializes in the quintessential American beach holiday. You'll discover adrenaline-pumping amusement park attractions, extensive lengths of powdered beaches, delectable blue crabs, and plenty of souvenir stores if you stroll down the Boardwalk. As families frolic on the beach, daring sun-seekers parasail over the ocean, and youngsters shriek inside Ripley's Ocean City's arcades, bright carnival ride lights shine. However, you may also unplug in Ocean City. Bait and tackle shops abound, and a 20-mile journey down the coast will take you to the tranquil Assateague Island National Seashore. There are several golf courses in the region for golfers to enjoy.

Listen to a local radio station, phone the OC Beach Patrol, or go to the town's Beach Patrol website to find out what the day's surfing areas are. In addition, throughout the summer, a piece of the beach along the inlet in the southernmost area of the beach is allocated for surfers from Monday to Friday - except on July 4th. If you'd rather fish than surf, cast your line between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at least 50 yards away from everyone else in the water. Only between October 1 and April 30 is your dog allowed on the beach or boardwalk, and he or she must be leashed at all times.

  2. Assateague Island National Seashore, about 10 miles south of Ocean City, is notable for several reasons: It is home to herds of gorgeous wild horses and provides a variety of activities to view the shoreline, including hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and simply wandering along the beach. At Assateague Island National Seashore, camping in trailers, recreational vehicles, or tents is also popular. Picnic tables and fire pits are available in several of the campground locations, excellent for toasting s'mores with the family. This Maryland vacation spot will appeal to adventurers searching for family-friendly outdoor activities as well as a large beach.

    Assateague Island
is a 37-mile-long barrier island off the Delmarva Peninsula's eastern shore, facing the Atlantic Ocean. Maryland owns the northern two-thirds of the island, while Virginia owns the southern third. The majority of Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park is located in Maryland. The Virginia part includes Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and a one-mile length of property controlled by the National Park Service that has a lifeguarded recreational beach and interpretive amenities. The Assateague Lighthouse, herds of wild horses, and beautiful beaches are its most well-known features. Toms Cove is one of the many marshes, bays, and coves found on the island.

  3. On the Chesapeake Bay, Calvert Cliffs State Park is located. Calvert Cliffs continue to be regarded as one of Maryland's best beaches. This quarter-mile length of the beach, surrounded by magnificent sandy cliffs, is ideal for swimming and fishing. If you're looking for fossils, go to the open beach area along the red trail, which is about two kilometers from the parking lot.

Calvert Cliffs State Park in Calvert County overlooks the Chesapeake Bay and is known for its majestic cliffs that date back 10 to 20 million years and cover around 25 miles of shoreline. The sandy beach is tiny, but there is a playground and 13 miles of hiking trails for guests to enjoy. Furthermore, Calvert Cliffs State Park is home to over 600 different types of fossils, so while the kids aren't making sandcastles or splashing in the sea, they'll have plenty of opportunities to go fossil scavenging.

  4. At the foot of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is Sandy Point State Park, a stretch of beach bordering the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. For those who don’t want to traverse the more than 60-mile drive to Ocean City or Assateague Island, this is an option for sunbathing or fishing. During the summer season, part of the beach is watched by lifeguards. Fishing is allowed in particular areas, such as rock jetties and a fishing pier. Crabbing is also a popular pastime, catching the Maryland staple, blue crabs. Information and supplies can be found at the state park’s marine store, located near the boat launch ramps.

Sandy Point State Park is a 786-acre picturesque green space with magnificent beaches, well-managed picnic spaces, and spectacular views of the bay. Swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, camping, and animal watching are just a few of the activities available at the park. For those who want to spend some time exploring the seas, there is a marina with boat rentals.

  5. Kent is the Chesapeake Bay's biggest beach and a historically significant location in Maryland. A small canal known as the Kent Narrows divides it from the Delmarva Peninsula to the east, and a four-mile (6.4-kilometer) stretch of water separates the island from Sandy Point, a neighborhood near Annapolis, on the other side.

Kent Beach, which is about 20 miles east of Annapolis, 40 miles southeast of Baltimore, and 50 miles east of Washington, has a couple of excellent beach spots. The 276-acre Terrapin Nature Park features a picturesque walk that travels through wildflowers, marshes, forests, and a sandy beach. In addition to a picnic area, an outdoor amphitheater, and many hiking routes, Matapeake Beach gives greater space to stretch out and sunbathe. A section of Matapeake Beach is also dog-friendly. When you've worked up an appetite, stop by a bayfront restaurant for some delectable seafood, such as Maryland crabcakes.

  6. Unlike other Maryland beaches, visitors to North Beach must purchase a pass at the town’s welcome center before going to the beach, despite it being a public beach. Those who reside in Calvert County receive a discount on the pass. The waters of the Chesapeake Bay are available for swimming, sunbathing, or fishing/crabbing. An additional pass is necessary for those who wish to fish, with the exception of all Calvert County residents. The town also features a boardwalk that allows dogs, which must stay off the beach and be leashed at all times.

North Beach, located in Calvert County along the Chesapeake Bay, is a convenient day trip from Washington or northern Virginia. The beach is on the tiny side, but it's open for swimming and relaxing, and you can rent umbrellas, chairs, kayaks, and paddleboards here. A boardwalk is available for tourists to stroll or cycle along, as well as a fishing pier for those with a fishing license. There are a variety of curiosity shops, antique stores, and art galleries to visit in town, as well as informal and expensive dining options and a history museum for visitors to enjoy.

  7. This beach is 15 miles from downtown Baltimore in Baltimore County or less than 40 minutes by automobile. You can access Miami Beach by taking Bowleys Quarters Road off Route 150, which runs along a tiny peninsula stretching from Bowleys Quarters (Eastern Avenue). You'll drive through a beautiful forested region with a few farms before arriving at the beach entry, which is where Miami Beach Road becomes Bay Drive. In front of a little hut, look for a chain-link fence and gate. A field and a parking lot are located to the right of the gate.

On weekdays, the beach is open from sunrise to sunset, and on weekends, it is closed. Swimming at the beach is occasionally forbidden due to recent restoration efforts. There are more than 500 feet of sand at Miami Beach, as well as a pavilion, grills, a playground, and a nature walk. The pavilion is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, but it may also be hired for special occasions. Take a swim or have a barbecue with all of your pals using a grill!
