El Cerro del Aripo, at 940 meters, is the highest point in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It is part of the Aripo Massif and is located in the Northern Range on the island of Trinidad, northeast of the town of Arima. Unlike many of Trinidad's mountain peaks, El Cerro del Aripo has a flat summit from which no views are available. Due to constant fog and cloud cover, the temperature may decrease significantly at night compared to the lowlands, and the orographic influence of the Northern Range produces rainfall in the region that is the highest in the country, possibly exceeding 3500 mm per year.
El Cerro del Aripo is home to the golden treefrog, only found in the highest peaks in Trinidad and the Paria Peninsula, Venezuela. Springs that emanate from the Aripo Massif form the headwaters of the Caroni River's largest tributaries. The Aripo Cave is home to a large oilbird colony and features stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations. El Cerro del Aripo is accessible for hikers and is located near the world-famous Asa Wright Nature Centre.

El Tucuche, at 936 meters, is the second-highest mountain in Trinidad's Northern Range. It's known for its unique pyramidal form. It is said to be a holy mountain in Amerindian mythology. Amerindian petroglyphs may be seen on a rocky outcropping below the mountain. Archaeologists have only discovered these petroglyphs in the nation.
Elfin woodland can be found on the peak of El Tucuche. Due to the high height, cloud exposure, and prevailing winds, the vegetation is frequently twisted and short. The community of Lluengo, which has a population of around 2,000 people, is located at the foot of the mountain.
Hikers frequently climb El Tucuche. The first peak reaches a height of almost 2,000 feet (800 meters) and features a 1000-foot sheer-vertical cliff. The second and tallest top is pyramid-shaped and stands at nearly 3,000 feet (936 meters). When there are no clouds, the top offers views of the nation's capital, Port Of Spain, the Caroni Swamp, and the Main Ridge. Maracas Beach may also be seen from the hilltop.

Main Ridge is the main mountainous ridge on the island of Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago. It is a 29-kilometer (18-mile) long chain of hills that spans between the Caribbean Sea and the Southern Tobago fault system, reaching a maximum height of 572 meters (1,877 ft). The Main Ridge Forest Reserve, which was created formally in 1776, is one of the world's oldest protected places. It's a popular spot for ecotourism and birdwatching. Main Ridge is a key habitat for Tobago's natural flora and animals, including numerous unique species.
The lower montane rain forest dominates the Main Ridge. The emergent canopy of Licania biglandulosa and Byrsonima spicata characterizes these forests in Tobago, with the palm Euterpe broadwayi more frequent on exposed peaks. The lower-lying areas of the Main Ridge are dominated by moist lowland forests. Prior to the 1940s, there was little human interference in the forests but were badly damaged by Hurricane Flora in 1963.
