In the Caribbean Sea, San Andrés is a coral island. San Andrés is Colombia's largest island, located in the southern group of islands and one of the most beautiful islands in Colombia. San Andrés was named the best Sun and Beach destination in the world at the World Travel Awards in 2014, 2015, and 2019. For good reason, this island is a popular tourist attraction. Scuba diving is one of the most popular activities in San Andrés. Beautiful coral reefs and a variety of aquatic life may be seen in San Andrés. Providencia is a hilly Caribbean island in Colombia's Department of Providencia, located halfway between Costa Rica and Jamaica. The Providence Island Company founded an English Puritan colony on Providencia Island in 1629, which was captured by Spain in 1641. Henry Morgan used Providencia as a base for raiding the Spanish empire, and legend has it that much of his loot is still concealed on the island. Morgan has many places on the island named after him. Santa Catalina Island is littered with forts and cannons dating back hundreds of years.

Diving is a popular activity on this island because of the abundance of aquatic life to be discovered. Felipe's Place is the place to go if you want to observe coral formations and sea critters. Another fantastic place to visit is the Spiral, which has the richest biodiversity in the region.

Gorgona is a Colombian island in the Pacific Ocean, about 28 kilometers off the coast of Colombia. The island is 9 kilometers long and 2.5 kilometers wide, with a maximum elevation of 338 meters. It is one of the most beautiful islands in Comlombia.

Gorgona has been reinvented for ecotourism – home to some of the most spectacular diving in the country, and stellar views of the migrating humpback whales that visit Colombia's Pacific between June and September every year, this jungle-covered idyll has been named for the mythical Medusa of Greek lore due to the thousands of snakes that tormented Pizarro's small force, trapped for 8 months on the island prior to the invasion of Peru, and an Alcat.

Fuerte Island is a small coral island off the coast of Colombia's Córdoba department, south of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, in the Caribbean Sea. It is located 11 kilometers from Colombia's mainland. It is part of the chain of islands that includes the Rosario Islands, the San Bernardo Archipelago, and Tortuguilla.

Strong Island, as its name implies, is a wonderful small Caribbean island just off the coast that legally falls under Cartagena's authority but is only a 20-minute boat ride from the shore of Cordoba's department, near the lovely beach resort of Monitos.

Fuerte Island, with its small population and beautiful beaches, also offers excellent diving, delicious fresh seafood, and a few fine hotels and hostels for those who want to truly immerse themselves in the 'lost on a desert island' experience. This is the ideal island for getting away from it all and disappearing for a few nights!

El Islote, the sole man-made island on this list, is said to be the most densely populated island on the planet, with over 1200 people living on an artificial island measuring only 0.012 square kilometers! Legend has El Islote that the settlers were drawn to the island not just because of the abundance of fish, but also because there were no insects. This reclamation is thought to have started around 1870.

The fishing business along the coast gave rise to the island, and the majority of the population currently work as fishermen or in the tourism industry on other adjacent islands. Some residents would subsequently migrate to adjacent islets such as Tintipán Island or Mucura Island due to its tiny size.

Residents organized a community council in 2013 to discuss issues in the neighborhood. In 2018, a tidal wave flooded the island and some homes, causing floods.

Malpelo is a small island in the eastern Pacific Ocean about 500 kilometers west of the Colombian peninsula with a Colombian Armed Forces military installation. It is composed of a sheer, barren rock with three high peaks, the highest of which is Cerro de la Mona, which stands at 300 meters. From northeast to southwest, the island is about 1.5 kilometers long and 640 meters wide. Prior to European discovery, Malpelo Island was most likely isolated from human contact. It's inhospitable, and it's in the same location as other oceanic islands in the eastern Pacific.

Malpelo's exact date of discovery is unknown, however it appears on Peruvian maps as early as 1530, suggesting it was the first of the distant eastern Pacific islands to be found by Europeans. Following its discovery, Malpelo became a Spanish possession, which was eventually seized by Peru and then Colombia.

Mcura Island is a coral island and one of the most beautiful islands in Colombia. It is part of the District of Cartagena de Indias and is controlled by Colombia. On the island, there are lodging options.
