Apolima-Uta, the island's only village, is made up of a small group of fales and one church and is located beyond the island's main beach, where your boat will dock.

The people of Apolima live completely self-sufficiently, as one might expect from a small island formed from an inactive volcanic crater, providing visitors with an authentic glimpse of the traditional Samoan way of life as it has existed for centuries. A steady walk up to the Apolima lighthouse will allow you to appreciate the tiny island's unique volcanic topography.
