Ulaan Tsutgalan, the largest waterfall in Mongolia, is located in the Bat-Ulzii soum of the Uvurkhangai region. The waterfall is located around 30 kilometers west of the soum center, is about 5 meters broad, and descends from a height of more than 20 meters. It is referred to as "Orkhon Waterfall" by some. This is a misnomer, though. This is due to the fact that the waterfall was created when the Khyatruun and Ulaan rivers, which originate in the Khangai Mountains, spilled into the Orkhon River. Between Undur Oyster and Ongotsot Gorge, a distance of around 50 kilometers, the Orkhon River passes through the gorge, which is roughly 20 meters high.

When the Red River entered this gorge, a waterfall was produced. A depression about 10 meters deep was made when the river drained, eroding the bedrock and moving back about 100 meters from the Orkhon River. In addition to Ulaan Tsutgalan, the Bat-Ulzii soum of the Uvurkhangai province is home to four or five major and minor waterfalls, including the "Orkhon waterfall or tiny tributary," the "Tatuurin waterfall," and the "Tsagaan gol waterfall."

In the province of Bayan-Ulgii, Tsengel Sum is home to the Baga Turgen Waterfall (Western Mongolia). Beautiful mountain, ideal for hikers, wildlife enthusiasts, and people with various lifestyles. The Baga Turgen waterfall, which is divided into two stages, is located in the Turgen Uul valley of the Altai Mountain range. The Turgen river, which flows through the local Kazakh nomads, was created from the glacial snowfall that covers the Altai mountains.

Numerous endangered species, including red deer, ibex, snow leopards, lynx, and wolves, call the Baga Turgen Falls home. Additionally, unusual flora like Altai onion and golden sage may be present. The Upper Mountain Depression also has a number of freshwater ponds and lakes. At a height of roughly 3,000 meters above sea level, dozens of cave paintings are regarded as rare historical and cultural treasures. These paintings are located along the Western Mountains. Near the lakes Khoton and Khurgan is the Baga Turgen waterfall. It offers a fantastic route experience and is well concealed in the highlands. Although the hike to the waterfall is quite short and only somewhat difficult at the end, the scenery along the way is simply breathtaking.

Orkhon Waterfalls is a section of Orkhon Valley, which is situated about 360 kilometers (224 miles) southeast of Ulan Bator in the central portion of the Mongolian country, north of the province of Ovorkhangai. This monument, which has been under UNESCO protection since 1992 and is situated at the base of the Khangai range, spans 121.967 hectares along the Orkhon River. Additionally, a 61.044-hectare buffer zone is secured.

Because numerous successive nomads have lived in the valley from the prehistoric era, the Orkhon River basin is home to numerous historical relics. Because it connected East and West in the center of the vast Eurasian continent, this region is frequently regarded as the birthplace of the nomadic steppes civilisation and was a true meeting place for civilizations during the last millennium.

Currently, Orkhon Waterfalls is a sizable nomad community where a lot of breeders frequently pitch their tents. This region is the ideal location to learn about the nomadic Mongolia in a beautiful leafy backdrop thanks to the attractive steppes' sceneries, which are bordered by the lush Khangai Massif and the rich fauna and flora. Horseback riding is also very enjoyable, and the valley serves as the starting point for many walks and treks in the nearby mountains. In the mountains, you can go biking or fishing.
