Did you know that Montenegro has a similar waterfall to Niagara? For a long time, this scenic location, which is only 10 minutes' drive from Podgorica, was relatively unknown to visitors and tourists from abroad. However, recently, it has gained increasing attention. Residents in Podgorica and the surrounding areas enjoy cooling down in the cold Cijevna river during the summer.

On Cijevna, without a doubt, is where you'll find the greatest concentration of people during a hot day in Podgorica. Cijevna offers wonderful opportunities for swimming and relaxation across a distance of just a few kilometers thanks to its freshness and, more importantly, its intriguing surroundings. It quickly condenses between two rocks, becoming narrower even up to half a meter, and rushes to meet Moraca in Zeta valley, thus uniting the lofty Albanian highlands under which it originates with the balmy Mediterranean.

Early spring is the ideal time to see the Cijevna waterfall because as the snow melts, the Cijevna river grows stronger and faster. Although the early spring is the finest time to visit and see the Cijevna waterfall, it is not recommended for people to swim in the river during this time due to the volume and force of the river's and the waterfall's flow.

The limestone that the Tara waterfalls have been flowing through for ages has been shaped, creating a spectacular canyon with sharp gorges, enormous rocks, and gaping gaps! The area is heavily forested, and the coastlines are precipitous. The unusual, ancient black pine forest known as the Crna Poda complex contains trees that are more than 450 years old and over 50 meters tall.

You won't truly understand what an adventure is until you drink from Tara's crystal-clear water and float through its icy rapids. Rafting and kayaking are two unique pastimes available in Tara. The greatest time to go rafting is during the spring snowmelt when the rapids are at their wildest. The rafting season lasts from April through October. A rapids trip might last up to two hours and provide nonstop excitement.

Rafting can take place in contemporary rubber boats, but an outing on one of the historic wooden rafts, steered by the extraordinarily talented artisans who once transported lumber in this manner, would be unquestionably unforgettable. One of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most stunning natural attractions is the Kravice waterfalls, often referred to as the Kravica waterfalls. It pours down the Trebiat river from a sizable tuff limestone deposit onto the lake below. Although the state government has safeguarded the entire region, locals and visitors are welcome to visit, picnic, camp, and even swim there. The entire area is covered in trees, including chaste trees, poplars, and figs. Even the tuff formations are green, covered with a thick layer of lichen, moss, and grass. Near the falls, there are virtually any man-made structures that would detract from the area's pristine natural setting.

The Kravice waterfalls are a peaceful natural sight to see, but there are also other attractions like camping, swimming, and even a little café where people can just sit and converse while taking in the surroundings' overall beauty. Rafting is an option if you visit during the summer because it is very popular at that time. The Kravice waterfalls are best visited in the spring, though, when the weather is pleasant, and the surrounding area is lush and green. In fact, a small culinary festival centered mostly on grilled fish and regional specialties takes place in the springtime next to Kravice Falls. Stalactite formations in a neighboring natural grotto should also be examined.

At noon in the scorching summer and late spring, an extraordinary natural phenomenon takes place. At the top of the valley, where it is hotter, some lake water rises up and condenses into a mist-like structure. Not only is it breathtaking to see, but the watery mist also acts as a natural layer of shade from the scorching sun, lowering the temperature for those lounging on the beach below or taking a dip in the lake. In addition to the waterfall, canoe tours are available to allow you to explore the Trebiat river itself.

In English, Vodopad Grlja, or Grlja Waterfall, is a potent addition to the tiny Montenegrin settlement of Vusanje. Water from the incredible natural spring Eye of the Grasshopper and recent snowmelt from the nearby Accursed Mountains power the cascade. The water enters a deep canyon at a depth of around 12 meters before merging with water from Ali Pashas's Spring and flowing into Lake Plav.

Just before arriving in Ropojana Valley, in the village of Vusanje, is the Grlja waterfall. You can leave your car in a sizable open field when you get there. Simply follow the roar of the water from here to the waterfall. While traveling along the Peaks of the Balkans Trail from Vusanje to Theth, you will cross Grlja. Make sure you pause and take a look! The power of nature is on full show in this waterfall. The waterfall practically gushes with snow melt in the late spring and early summer. One of the most incredible demonstrations of power you have ever seen will take place here. Early in the fall, the waterfall weakens but is still a stunning sight.
