Hanoi University of Mining and Geology

Hanoi University of Mining and Geology is Vietnam's main institution for geology, mining, surveying and mapping, as well as oil and gas exploration and production. Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, founded in 1966, has educated almost 80,000 engineers, masters, and PhDs. Many of them have progressed to positions of power in the country.

By 2020, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology was a major multifunctional and prestigious university in the country and area, with a capacity of 30,000 students. It is a center for scientific research and technology transfer in earth sciences, mining, and other scientific fields, as well as a gathering place for many of the country's leading experts and lecturers in the fields of Mining, Geology, Geomatics and Land Administration, Petroleum, Information Technology, Economics - Business Administration, Construction, particularly underground construction, and Environment.

The university is constantly increasing international cooperation on undergraduate and graduate education, scientific research, consultancy services, foreign language instruction in advanced programs, and high-quality programs in collaboration with famous regional and international universities. HUMG will be a research-oriented university with national and regional brands by 2030.
