National Economics University
National Economics University (NEU) was one of the first universities established by the government of North Vietnam during the time of recovery following the triumph over French colonial rule. The university was once known as the University of Economy and Finance before being renamed Planning Economics University. Since 1985, the term National Economics University has been used officially and will continue to be used now.
This school is regarded as the top university in economics in North Vietnam, with the main goal of not only training students in economic knowledge but also advising the government on macroeconomic policies and conducting research on economic management, particularly on international economic subjects. NEU currently has approximately 45,000 students enrolled, as well as 1228 lecturers and staff members, including 113 professors and vice-professors, 255 physicians, and 391 Masters.
Many of the National Economics University's alumni have a proven track record of accomplishment and hold key positions in both the public and commercial sectors. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the current President of Vietnam, is an alumnus.
