Lake Hrid

The most beautiful lake in Montenegro is Hridsko Jezero or Lake Hrid in English. It is situated in the Prokletije mountain range. The borders of Montenegro and Albania are converging here. It is 1970 meters above sea level, which is a record for all the lakes in Montenegro. Depending on what is reflecting at the time, either the clear sky or the old pines, the water can range in color from sky blue to emerald green.

The "lake of happiness" is Hrid Lake, which is located in Montenegro. A myth claims that forest fairies take baths in Hrid Lake while evading mankind. Even today, folks who choose to take a swim in the lake hold the belief that doing so will bring them good health and marriage luck. Make a wish while tossing a coin or piece of jewelry into the lake, such as a ring, bracelet, or chain.

Due to the abundance of coins and jewelry, swimming in this lake provides the distinct sensation of swimming in gold. Strangely, there aren't any fish in this lake, but there is a ton of other species around, so you won't be short on that kind of experience. Therefore, Hrid Lake is rated as one of the most beautiful lakes in Montenegro.
