Lake Sas
This lake is located northeast of Ulcinj, near the small settlement of Sas in neighboring Montenegro. Just outside of the seaside town of Ulcinj, in the same-named settlement, is where you'll find Lake Sas. The second-largest lake in the entire nation, Sas is renowned for being the permanent home to numerous unique bird species as well as migratory bird species. This lake is a natural haven for bird lovers and one of the reasons people come here throughout the year.
The rich flora and fauna of this lake, which has crystal clear waters teeming with more than 20 species of fish, reeds, and water lilies, make it the perfect getaway spot. If you choose to come, you can enjoy activities like boat rides, football games, and picnics by the lakeside. You can also just relax and take in the beautiful scenery and fresh air.
Any time of year is ideal for a pleasant day trip to this location. Swim, play sports, and ride a boat on the lake during the summer, and have a picnic or go bird watching there during the winter.
