Lake Trnovacko

Near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the far western region of Montenegro, is where you'll find Trnovacko Lake. Mountains encircle it on all sides. The highest depth of this little mountain lake, which is 825 meters long and 713 meters broad, is 9 meters. It is also glacial, which means that it freezes during the winter.

The lake is located in the northwest corner of Pluzine's Durmitor National Park at a height of 1517 meters above sea level. The water is quite clear and colorless in shallow areas. As it sinks further, the water turns green. Trnovacko Lake is special and beautiful. We can contend that it is the most alluring and appealing lake in the country due to its heart-shaped shape. That is why, despite the fact that it cannot be reached by car and that it is challenging to find without adequate assistance, so many people are ready to try and find it.

It will take you five to six hours to walk over high slopes and confined paths from Pluzine to lake Trnovacko. When you actually do it, however, you won't regret it. The spectacular scene that awaits you there will wow you. So, it is one of the most beautiful lakes in Montenegro.
