Omdurman Islamic University
Omdurman Islamic University, founded in 1912, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburbs of Khartoum (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Omdurman Islamic University (OIU), officially recognized by Sudan's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a large (25,000-29,999 students) coeducational Sudanese higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
Omdurman Islamic University (OIU) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, doctorate degrees and master degrees in a variety of fields of study. This 108-year-old Sudanese higher-education institution has a selective admission policy that is based on students' previous academic records and grades. International students are encouraged to apply. OIU also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services such as a library, sports facilities, online courses and distance learning opportunities, and administrative services.
