University of Shendi
The University of Shendi, founded in 1994, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Shendi (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), on the Nile River. This university also has a campus in Al-Matamah. University of Shendi (USH), officially recognized by Sudan's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a small (2,000-2,999 students) coeducational Sudanese higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
The University of Shendi (USH) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, doctorate degrees and master degrees in a variety of fields of study. This Sudanese higher-education institution, which is 26 years old, has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' previous academic record and grades. This Sudanese higher education organization is the least selective, with an admission rate of 80-90 percent. International students are encouraged to apply. USH also offers a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, and administrative services to students.
