University of Science and Technology
The University of Science and Technology, founded in 1995, is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of Omdurman (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Khartoum. University of Science and Technology (UST), officially recognized by Sudan's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a large (15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Sudanese higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
The University of Science and Technology (UST) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, doctorate degrees and master degrees in a variety of fields of study. This Sudanese higher-education institution, which has been in operation for 25 years, has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. This Sudanese higher education organization is somewhat selective, with an admission rate of 70-80 percent. International students are encouraged to apply. Students can also take advantage of a library, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services at UST.
