Phuket Indy Market
Phuket Indy Night Market is a lively, young, and creative night market in Phuket Town, located on Limelight Avenue, a small lane off Dibuk Road, not far from the well-known Raya Restaurant. It's less popular than it once was, but it's still a fun place to spend an evening on a weekday if you're in the neighborhood. The enormous Chillva Night Market and the Phuket Walking Street Market took center stage.
Phuket Indy Market is a public display of young Thai creations and has much food to enjoy! It's much more modest than the markets in Chiang Mai or even the Phuket Weekend Market. It was the first time such a vibrant little market existed in Phuket before the Sunday Walking Street. It has evolved significantly since then, and the Limelight shopping mall recently opened next to it.
It's also inspiring to see how Phuket's young people develop their own ideas and try to make a living. The streets are lined with new shops, most of which cater to teenagers and young fashion, as well as a few bars and restaurants, such as the new 'Eatz,' and a live band to add to the festive atmosphere. The Phuket Indy Market is only open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., but this street has quickly become a vibrant part of Phuket Town.
It is located on 'Limelight Avenue' off Dibuk Road, just a short walk from Phuket's famous Thalang Road, the island's heritage street. A perfect afternoon in town would begin with exploring the streets of Old Phuket and the now-famous Sino-Portuguese architecture, followed by visiting some museums. Dinner at nearby Raya Restaurant or the excellent One Chun Restaurant, followed by fun shopping at the Indy Market.
