University of Rome Tor Vergata

Tor Vergata University of Rome, often known as University of Rome II, is an Italian public research university. The university, which is located in a southern Rome suburb, blends a liberal arts legacy with a focus on vocational development in the fields of Economics, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics, Natural Sciences, and Medicine.

It was founded in 1982 with the purpose of delivering a high-quality education to students who are preparing to meet the changing requirements and opportunities of the workforce. Furthermore, the university campus was created to replicate the environment experienced by students on Anglophone universities. Many of the university's teachers are influential members of the Italian cultural and political scene. Its current rector is Orazio Schillaci, a professor in the Faculties of Medicine and Surgery.

Economics, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery are the six schools that make up the institution. There are 18 departments that offer a total of 31 Ph.D. and 51 Master's degree programs. The institution also provides 55 three-year bachelor's degree programs and seven single-cycle bachelor's degree programs for undergraduates. Furthermore, Tor Vergata University of Rome provides 20 international degree courses taught in English: three bachelor's degrees, fifteen master's degrees, and two single-cycle degrees. In recent years, the institution has taken great steps to participate in international projects and to relate its research to industry. It also engages in interdisciplinary conversation with local firms in order to boost entrepreneurial and small-business operations.

The institution is located on a 6-square-kilometer plot of land in the city's eastern sector, just beyond the Grande Raccordo Anulare highway connection. On campus, there is a university hospital (Tor Vergata Polyclinic) with cutting-edge medical technology. Accommodation facilities held by the regional organization Lazio DiSCo as well as Campus X, a private firm, are located near the institution. The Campus X residence halls, which opened in October 2010, presently have approximately 1300 beds for students and researchers, as well as study rooms, a market, a restaurant, a gym, a music recording studio, and a variety of other amenities. Campus X buildings use both thermal and photovoltaic solar panels to produce up to 70% of the hot water and street lighting needed on campus, helping to reduce environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
