The Sapienza University of Rome, usually known as simply Sapienza or the University of Rome, and officially known as the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza," is an Italian public research university. It is one of Europe's largest colleges in terms of enrollments and one of the oldest in terms of history, having been founded in 1303. This university is one of the best universities in Italy and the world, consistently ranking top in national and regional rankings. It was ranked first in the world for classics and ancient history in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022.

Sapienza University of Rome now has eleven colleges and 65 departments, thanks to a 2011 reorganization. The University of Padua is an Italian university in Padua, in the Veneto region of northern Italy. A group of Bologna students and lecturers formed the University of Padua in 1222. Padua University is Italy's second-oldest and the world's fifth-oldest surviving university. The university has around 65,000 students in 2010. The University of Pisa is one of Italy's and Europe's oldest and most prestigious universities. Although several researchers trace its origins in the 11th century, the University of Pisa was officially founded in 1343. It is evident, however, that Pisa had a "Universitas" in the traditional sense of the word, that is, a community of students who gathered around professors, from the middle of the 12th century. Leonardo Fibonacci was born and worked during this time period. He was a renowned mathematician who, for the first time in Europe, combined the spirit and procedures of Greek geometry with the instruments of Arabic mathematics through his work.

There are 20 departments at the University of Pisa. These departments provide a variety of courses in their respective fields. PhD's programs are often provided and organized by departments. The University of Genoa, usually known as UniGe, is one of the best universities in Italy. It is situated on the Italian Riviera in the Liguria region of northern Italy, in the city of Genoa and the regional Metropolitan City of Genoa. The first university was established in 1481. Tor Vergata University of Rome, often known as University of Rome II, is an Italian public research university.
