  1. Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed and distributed by Capcom Production Studio 4. It is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first edition in the Resident Evil video game series, and was released in 2002 for the GameCube video game device. The narrative is set in 1998, in the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City, where a series of strange murders had occurred. The player assumes the character of Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, two S.T.A.R.S. agents dispatched by the city to investigate the killings.

Resident Evil was created in one year and two months as part of an exclusive agreement between Capcom and Nintendo. Shinji Mikami, who also designed and directed the first Resident Evil, directed it. Mikami opted to rebuild the game because he believed the original had not aged well enough and that the capabilities of the GameCube might bring it closer to his original concept. The graphical appearance remains the same, with 3D models placed over pre-rendered backdrops. However, the visual quality has considerably increased. In addition, the remake includes new gaming mechanics, reworked puzzles, more explorable regions, a revamped screenplay, and more story elements, including an entire subplot removed from the original game.

  7. Players take control of a crimson, tentacled creature of unknown origin. The creature must creep through vents and destroy scientists and troops as it makes its way through a complex. Players can get improvements such as the ability to sprint (which can be used to smash down wooden obstacles and access otherwise inaccessible regions) and increase in size as the game continues.

An amorphous monster known only as "The Monster" is kept in a containment unit within a Relith Science research facility. The beast escapes and makes its way through the institution in search of an exit. As the organism moves through the facility, it battles and devours the facility's personnel and security forces. Along the journey, the monster discovers sections of its genetic code that have been taken by scientists for research and confinement, allowing it to develop, allowing for greater size and additional means of defense and offensive.

The Creature also comes across material analyzers, which, upon entering, cause flashbacks that disclose its origins. The Creature was discovered by three scientists within an egg-like sack, and upon emerging, proceeded to kill two and possess the third. However, Relith security troops came and murdered the surviving scientist, allowing Relith to catch and imprison the beast. The creature eventually returns to its original confinement location and absorbs the last piece of its stolen genetic code, allowing it to reassemble a human form that resembles the scientist it initially infected before fleeing the facility and surfacing in a confined city as the sunsets.

On July 24, 2014, the game was published on Steam Early Access, and on August 17, 2017, it was released as a complete game for Microsoft Windows, macOS, SteamOS, and Ubuntu. If the player makes it through the night, they will acquire a reputation with the merchant, which they may use to trade for more costly products. If a player dies over the night, they will awaken the next morning with no reputation. If the player dies while scavenging, they will lose half of their inventory, which will be marked on the map for subsequent collecting.
