Herat University
Herat University, founded in 1988, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Herat (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Herat University (HU) is a large (enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational Afghan higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan.
Herat University (HU) provides programs and courses that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees like bachelor degrees in a variety of fields of study. This 32-year-old Afghan university has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. HU also offers a variety of academic and non-academic facilities and services to students, such as a library, sports facilities, housing, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.
In recent years, Herat University has managed and maintained cooperative relationships with a number of foreign universities, including those in the United States, Germany, Italy, Thailand, Slovakia, Iran, India, and Indonesia. As a result of this collaboration, the computer science, science, engineering, economics, agriculture, medicine, religious and Islamic studies, and journalism and mass communication faculties' curricula have been partially or completely revised, and syllabi and textbooks have been prepared.
