Rana University
Rana University, founded in 2009, is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in the rural outskirts of Kabul (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Rana University (RU), which is officially recognized by Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education, is a small (enrollment range: 4,000-4,999 students) coeducational Afghan higher education institution.
Rana University (RU) provides programs and courses that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees in a variety of fields of study, and master's degrees. This 11-year-old Afghan higher-education institution has a selective admission policy that is based on entrance examinations as well as students' previous academic records and grades. This Afghan higher education organization is somewhat selective, with an admission rate of 60-70 percent. RU also offers a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, and administrative services to students.
