Kateb University, founded in 2007, is a non-profit private higher education institution located in Kabul's urban setting (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Kateb University (KU), officially recognized by Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education, is a small (enrollment range: 3,000-3,999 students) coeducational Afghan higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.


Kateb University (KU) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, doctorate degrees and master's degrees in a variety of fields of study. This 13-year-old Afghan university has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. The admission rate for this Afghan higher education organization is 50-60%, making it a mediumly selective institution. International applicants are welcome to apply. KU also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services such as a library, sports facilities, housing, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.
