Salam University

Salam University, founded in 2009, is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in Kabul's urban setting (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). This university also has a campus in Kunduz. Salam University (SU), officially recognized by Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education, is a small (enrollment range: 4,000-4,999 students) coeducational Afghan higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.

Salam University (SU) provides programs and courses that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of fields of study. The Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Computer Science programs at Salam University are taught in English, while other faculties are taught in official local languages. In order to run a credit-based system, the university adheres to the rules and guidelines established by the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education.

Each year, the academic year is divided into two regular semesters: the Spring Semester, which begins in March, and the Fall Semester, which begins in September. This 11-year-old Afghan university has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. This Afghan higher education organization is somewhat selective, with an admission rate of 60-70 percent. International students are encouraged to apply. SU also provides students with a library, financial aid and/or scholarships, sports facilities and administrative services, in addition to academic and non-academic facilities and services.
