Sonic And The Secret Rings
Sonic and the Secret Rings is a Wii platform video game released in 2007 by Sega. It was created by Sonic Team. It is the first title in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise on the system, and it follows Sonic the Hedgehog's adventure to stop an evil genie known as the Erazor Djinn. Secret Rings employs a system of experience points and levels, as well as special moves that are unlocked through leveling up, in addition to the basic platforming gameplay of prior Sonic titles.
Secret Rings garnered mixed reviews at its initial release. Reviewers liked the game's visual aesthetic and thought it was an upgrade over previous editions, but they were critical of its controls, which some stated required time to get used to, and its variable difficulty. Sonic and the Black Knight, a sequel released by Sega in 2009, complete the Sonic Storybook series. Sonic and the Secret Rings were removed off store shelves in 2010, after Sega's decision to remove all Sonic titles with low Metacritic scores in order to boost the brand's worth.
