Sonic: Lost World

Sonic Lost World is an action-adventure platform game released in 2013 by Sonic Team. It is part of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and it was published in October 2013 by Nintendo for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in PAL territories, and by Sega in North America and Japan. In November 2015, a version for Microsoft Windows was published.

Lost World follows Sonic the Hedgehog's efforts to stop the Deadly Six, an extraterrestrial tribe that acts as the game's major enemies, from siphoning the world's energy from the Lost Hex, the game's location. Sonic and his long-time companion Tails must collaborate with Doctor Eggman, their usual foe, to stop the Deadly Six, resulting in disputes between the three sides. While the gameplay is similar to that of the Sonic series in certain respects, it incorporates parkour techniques and boasts primarily circular level design with an emphasis on different approaches. The Wisp creatures from Sonic Colors appear as power-ups in the game.

The game's development began shortly after the release of Sonic Colors in 2010. It was created using a tube-like level design and a basic, bright color palette to be streamlined and fluid in movement and design. When it was released, the game garnered mixed reviews; its controls and the Deadly Six were heavily panned, while its aesthetics and sounds were praised. Downloadable material, including additional levels and a new type of Wisp power, was published both alongside and after the game's debut.
