Universiti Malaysia Perlis
Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), formerly known as Northern Malaysia University College of Engineering, is a public university in Perlis, Malaysia's northernmost state. Founded in 2001 as Malaysia's 17th public institution of higher learning, the university began with only two programs and 119 students. UniMAP now has approximately 14,000 students enrolled in six diploma programs, 37 bachelor's degree programs, 20 master's degree programs, and 12 doctoral programs. These are divided into five engineering categories: electrical, electronic, chemical, mechanical, and civil.
Learning takes a hands-on or lab-intensive approach, particularly in engineering technology programs. The campus is spread across 30 locations in the state of Perlis, with three permanent locations. The schools of environmental engineering, bioprocess engineering, business innovation and technopreneurship, and human development and techno-communication are all housed at Kampus Kota Kangar.
The Kampus Alam UniMAP Paul Putra campus spans 1,500 acres and is home to the manufacturing engineering, mechatronic engineering, microelectric engineering, computer and communication engineering, and electrical systems engineering schools. The Engineering Centre, Centre for Industrial and Governmental Collaboration, Institute for Engineering Mathematic, residential colleges, a go-kart circuit, and the Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Sports Complex are also located on this campus.
The Kampus Hijau UniMAP Sungai Chuchuh campus encompasses 300 acres and is home to the faculty of engineering technology, a residential college, and the institute of sustainable agrotechnology, which operates nine greenhouses, two of which are dedicated to mango research. The university collaborates with other universities such as Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Teknikai Malaysia Melaka, and Universiti Malaysia Pahang.
