Universiti Utara Malaysia was founded in 1984 as a public university. Its initial focus was on management education. This has remained a major priority at UUM. UUM College of Business, UUM College of Arts and Sciences, and UUM College of Law, Government, and International Studies are the university's three main colleges. Its research interests are divided into eight categories: economic and financial analysis, entrepreneurship, consumer and market analysis, business leadership and innovation, information and media management, national resilience and nation building, governance and international studies. The majority of undergraduate programs are taught in English, and students are required to pass an English proficiency test. During your degree, you must also learn the Malay language, and you will be tested on it at the end.
