Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is one of Malaysia's most progressive private universities. The UTAR Education Foundation owns the entire university, which was founded in 2002 as a non-profit private university. With a first intake of only 411 students on one campus in 2002, the university now has more than 24,000 students spread across two campuses.

Since its inception in 2005, UTAR has graduated over 56,000 students and has made significant strides in establishing a strong reputation as a comprehensive University dedicated to achieving excellence in teaching and research. In 2017, the Ministry of Higher Education granted UTAR self-accreditation status, indicating the University's high quality and efficient administration of its programs and operations.

In its nine faculties, four centers, and three institutes, the University currently offers more than 110 academic programs. The programs range from foundation to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The Ministry of Higher Education has approved its wide range of high-quality, industry-focused programs (MOHE). More than 20 international and Malaysian professional bodies have also accredited UTAR's programs.

Through its Research, Development, and Commercialisation (RDC) initiatives, 32 research centers, and the UTAR Global Research Network, the University is dedicated to promoting research and scholarly developments in a wide range of fields. The UTAR Undergraduate Research Scheme (URS) was established to provide undergraduates with a structured training program in various aspects of research project implementation. To date, the University has formalized collaborations with over 330 educational institutions and industry corporations, both domestic and international, to facilitate international exchanges, research, and training.
