The Chuaindhara family immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s, and Atchana grew up in the kitchens of her parents' various Thai restaurants in South Florida. For several years, she ran the hugely successful Thai restaurant Siam Lotus Room (also known as the Ugly Green Building), where some of her most devoted customers had their first taste of Thai. Ariete ranks 3rd in the list of best restaurants In Coconut Grove. Chef Michael Beltran's 2022 James Beard Award semi-finalist restaurant is Ariete. It's directly across the street from sister restaurant Nave. Dine inside to get a glimpse of their open-style kitchen. The menu combines French fine dining with Cuban flair. You've come to get the Canard a La Presse, which is French for duck press. The Rohan Duck serves two guests and is available in limited quantities each night.
To secure this dish, they recommend making a reservation as soon as possible. This is one of only four restaurants in the United States that serve what is known as The Duck Press in France. The Rohan Duck is aged for about 20 days before being lightly glazed with guarapo (sugarcane) and local honey. The roasted calabaza duck tamal, wild mushroom and foie gravy, duck fricasse pastelitos, and a delicious and simple French-inspired salad are all served tableside as part of the preparation. If you're feeling particularly decadent, add foie gras to your duck feast for $25.

Krus Kitchen ranks 5th in the list of best restaurants In Coconut Grove. If you haven't had dinner at Krus Kitchen in Coconut Grove yet, NOW IS THE TIME. Chef Sebas Vargas and the incredible Krus team have created a menu that is deeply personal. Everything has been meticulously planned and built from the ground up (even the bread and butter). This is fine dining food, but in a relaxed, market setting on the second floor. Head upstairs to Krus Kitchen from sister restaurant Los Felix. The space is alive, with plenty of natural light and a cornered open kitchen. It is decorated with biodynamic wines and other products on display, which is always pleasant to look at while waiting for your food.
And speaking of, this evolving menu will change with the seasons but for now, after trying the entire menu with maybe two exceptions, our favorites include the agnolotti stuffed with taleggio cheese, smoked corn, porcini broth, and hazelnut oil; Krus bread with an anchovy brown butter, black garlic, and sea salt; oyster mushrooms with a red miso potato foam, quinoa, and green onions; chitarra with mussel emulsion, caviar, and Meyer lemon; the Day’s catch crudo with wasabi radish, finger lime ponzu, bonito, and avocado.

Navé ranks 6th in the list of best restaurants In Coconut Grove. Chef Michael Beltran has four restaurants and a bar in Coconut Grove (Chug's Diner, Ariete, Taurus, and Nave), with more on the way. Navé, an Italian and seafood-focused concept, is one of favorite dinner spots in the Grove. They could spend hours here sipping wine and eating seafood-centric dishes. They'd start the night with the Conserva & Pickles, served on a wood board. This raw bar appetizer comes with tinned tuna, smoked swordfish, pickled shrimp, and marinated mussels.
It comes with a spicy mustard sauce, pickled fennel, and flatbread. They also recommend the Charred Cabbage Caesar with smoked caesar dressing, pickled Florida shrimp, parmesan, and bonito flakes, as well as the broiled Miami clams with medianoche butter and melted gruyere cheese. They always order the Conch Bolognese with mortadella mousse and herb breadcrumbs for main course, as well as the Tuna au Poivre (seafood version of steak au poivre) with thick steak fries, a lobster pepper sauce, and a typical French herb salad. Nave serves dinner every day and brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chug's Diner ranks 7th in the list of best restaurants In Coconut Grove. This is a Miami diner. Yes, it has a ventanita, but it also has a full bar. The best seat in the house if you're only going with one other person is at the bar. You'll be here for a while if you ask Jeff to make you a free-style cocktail. Chug's is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
After a little exercise, treat yourself to a cafecito and a ham croqueta (you earned it); or a full-on breakfast with the best Cast Iron Pancake, slow-cooked in clarified butter and warm maple syrup. Get a non-traditional Pan con Lechon with mojo and tonnato sauce for lunch. Get the Meatloaf for dinner if you're looking for comfort. They didn't grow up eating this dish, but if they did, it would be exactly like the one at Chug's. Grab a piece of the tender meatloaf with tamarind ketchup, whipped mashed potato, peas, and carrots for the perfect bite.

Los Felix ranks 7th in the list of best restaurants In Coconut Grove. If you enjoy a freshly made corn tortilla and/or arepa, you should go to Los Felix. Founders Pili Restrepo, Josh Hackler, and chef Sebastián Vargas have created a menu that respects and adheres to the traditional and nearly extinct Milpa heirloom corn farming techniques. Here, familiar and comforting Latin flavors are presented in a refined manner. Dinner favorites include the Vera Cruz, Mexico-inspired Sope with black beans, cotija, sofrito, grilled mushrooms, and a hazelnut macha salsa; the Crudo, an aguachile with the daily catch, jicama, avocado aioli, pepitas oil served with a corn tostada; and the Arepa with braised pork belly, plantain, queso fresco, and avocado.
They also serve brunch, with dishes such as Arepa e' Huevo, a Colombian breakfast dish with a twist, and Mexican Chilaquiles. While listening to vinyl records, your meal should be paired with a bottle of their extensive selection of natural wine or one of the best Micheladas they've had in town. They hope to see more places like this pop up in Miami, where the vibe is laid-back and the ingredients are carefully sourced.
