  4. The University of Dodoma (UDOM) is a public university in central Tanzania, with its main campus in Dodoma, Tanzania's capital. The construction is going in place on a 6,000-hectare plot of land in the Chimwaga neighborhood, roughly 8 kilometers (5.0 miles) east of Dodoma's central business district.


    The University of Dodoma was formally formed in March 2007 after President of the United Republic of Tanzania Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete signed the Charter. In September 2007, the first academic programs began. UDOM is currently the country's fastest-growing university, with a campus that is larger than any other in the country. It is praised for creating competent and qualified students who can compete in job markets.

  6. State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is a state university in Zanzibar, Tanzania, located on Unguja Island. The institution was created in 1999 by a legislation of the Zanzibar House of Representatives and began operations in 2002. The School of Kiswahili and Foreign Languages (IKFL), the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE), the School of Education (SE), the School of Natural and Social Sciences (SNSS), and the Computer Centre currently make up the University (CC).   7. The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) is a public research institute in Arusha, Tanzania. The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha (NM-AIST Arusha) is part of a pan-African network of science and technology institutes spread across Africa.   8. Ardhi University (ARU) is a Tanzanian state university located in Dar es Salaam. It was founded on March 28, 2007, but it has been providing instruction in various forms for over 60 years. It was a constituent institution of the University of Dar es Salaam from 1996 to 2007, when it was known as the University College of Lands and Architectural Studies—UCLAS. It is located on Observation Hill near the University of Dar es Salaam.
