In guacamole
One of the most popular Mexican dishes is guacamole. The word "guacamole" has its roots in Mexico, where avocados have been grown for many centuries. The name is derived from two Aztec Nahuatl words—ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (sauce). In this recipe, use avocados that are just the proper ripe to make the best guacamole. The avocado will be hard and flavorless if it is not ripe enough. It will taste weird if it is too ripe.
Ingredients:
- Avocado
- Lime juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup diced onion - optional
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro - optional
- 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced - optional
Instruction:
- Mix the avocados, lime juice, and salt in a medium bowl. If you want, add chopped cilantro, chilis, onion, and/or tomato.
- A splash of acidity, such as lime or lemon juice, will help balance the avocado's richness.
- Serve right away or refrigerate for the greatest taste.
