The University of Duhok

The University of Duhok, founded in 1992, is a non-profit public higher-education institution in the urban setting of the small city of Duhok (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Kurdistan. The University of Duhok (UoD), officially recognized by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a large (enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational Iraqi higher education institution.


The University of Duhok (UoD) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. This Iraqi higher-education institution, which is 27 years old, has a selective admission policy based on students' previous academic records and grades. This Iraqi higher education organization is highly selective, with an admission rate ranging from 0 to 10%. Students can also take advantage of a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, and administrative services at the UoD.
