University of Kerbala

The University of Kerbala, founded in 2002, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the Karbala metropolis (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). The University of Kerbala (UOK), which is officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq, is a large (enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Iraqi higher education institution.

The University of Kerbala (UOK) offers courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. This 18-year-old Iraqi higher-education institution has a selective admission policy that is based on students' previous academic records and grades. International students are encouraged to apply. UOK also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services such as a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.
