University of Anbar

The University of Anbar, founded in 1970, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the rural setting of Ramadi (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Anbar. This university also has a campus in Ramadi. University of Anbar is a large (enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational Iraqi higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research of Iraq.

The University of Anbar provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. This Iraqi higher-education institution, which has been in operation for 50 years, has a selective admission policy based on students' previous academic records and grades. This Iraqi higher education organization is the least selective, with an admission rate of 80-90 percent. International students are encouraged to apply. Students can also take advantage of a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, and administrative services at the University of Anbar.
