University of Baghdad
The University of Baghdad, founded in 1957, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of Baghdad's large metropolis (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). This university also has a campus in Bab Al-Muadham. The University of Baghdad (UOB), which is officially recognized by Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a large (enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational Iraqi higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
The University of Baghdad (UOB) provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. This 63-year-old Iraqi higher-education institution has a selective admission policy that is based on students' previous academic records and grades. This Iraqi higher education organization is somewhat selective, with an admission rate of 60-70 percent. International applicants are welcome to apply. UOB also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services such as a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.
