  1. Around 84 km northwest of Phuket, Similan Islands is one of the best-known island groups in the Andaman Sea Ecological Zone, part of Phang Nga province, beautiful southern Thailand. In 1982, Similan was recognized as a national park. Its name is derived from Malay, including nine small islands starting from North to South: Koh Ba Ngu, Koh Similan, Koh Payu, Koh Hok, Koh Ha, Koh Miang, Koh Payan, Koh Payong, and Koh Huyong.
