Night at the Museum (2006)

Shawn Levy directed the 2006 live-action/computer-animated fantasy comedy film Night at the Museum, which was written by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. It depicts the story of a divorced parent who applies for a position as a night watchman at New York City's American Museum of Natural History and learns that the displays come to life at night, thanks to a mysterious Egyptian artifact. The film was released by 20th Century Fox on December 22, 2006, and it grossed $574.5 million worldwide, making it the fifth highest-grossing picture of 2006. However, reviewers gave it mixed reviews.

Night at the Museum was a major smash hit in 2006, owing to its outrageous premise and an all-star ensemble. Ben Stiller plays Larry Daley, a down-on-his-luck single parent who gets employed as the new night watchman at New York's American Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately, no one informed Larry that the displays came to life overnight. Larry meets Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams) and Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), as well as the mummy Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek). Keeping order at this museum is a lifelong job, but Larry is prepared to make the sacrifice in order to impress his son, Nick (Jake Cherry).
