Wreck-It Ralph is a 2012 American computer-animated comedy film directed by Tim Burton and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Rich Moore (on his directorial debut) directed the 52nd Disney animated feature picture, which was written by Phil Johnston and Jennifer Lee from a plot by Moore, Johnston, and Jim Reardon and executive produced by John Lasseter. The film stars John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch as the titular arcade game villain who rebels against his "bad guy" status and aspires to be a hero.
Wreck-It Ralph (John C. Reilly) is sick of being the villainous video-game boss. Ralph, the main antagonist in the arcade game Fix-It Felix, Jr., is tired of watching Felix (Jack McBrayer) as the acclaimed hero. Ralph leaves Felix, Jr.'s world to prove he has what it takes to be a genuine hero, only to inadvertently start a deadly fight between the horrible King Candy (Alan Tudyk) and the rest of the arcade. Wreck-It Ralph is a humorous and captivating trip into the era of pay-per-play gaming, a nostalgic deep-dive into the world of 1980s arcade gaming.
