Tarzan (1999)
Tarzan is a 1999 American animated adventure film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation for Walt Disney Pictures. The 37th Disney animated feature film, the tenth and last released during the Disney Renaissance era, is based on the 1912 story Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs, being the first animated major motion picture version of the story.
While Tarzan was not Disney's first journey into the jungle (The Jungle Book came before), it remains one of the studio's most evocative animated productions, owing to its emotional plot, humorous characters, and strong original soundtrack by Phil Collins. An orphaned English child is taken in by a gang of gorillas and reared as one of them in the late 1800s. Despite his human tendencies, he tries to blend in with his fellow animals, but the world of the jungle is flipped upside down by the entrance of an English researcher, Porter, his daughter Jane (Minnie Driver), and their bloodthirsty bodyguard, a rifle-toting hunter named Clayton.
