Mount Cameroon, also known as Mongo ma Ndemi or Fako, ranks first among the highest mountains in Cameroon, rising to a height of 13,255 feet. The mountain is also the highest point in Western and Central Africa's sub-Saharan region, as well as the world's 28th tallest mountain, with the continent's fourth most prominent summit and the world's 31st most prominent peak.

Mount Cameroon is part of the Cameroon Volcanic Line and is located near the Gulf of Guinea in the county's Southwest Province. Although the mountain is surrounded by tropical jungle, it has a naked summit with the exception of occasional snow. Although Mount Cameroon has no trees immediately on it, it is the sole area where two flowering plant species, Impatiens etindensis and IImpatiens grandisepala, can be found.

The mountain was first climbed by a Jamaican Baptist missionary named Joseph Merrick in the 1840s, and it is now the site of the annual Mount Cameroon Race of Hope, a competitive running race. Mount Cameroon is a live stratovolcano that erupted last year.

Bottle Peak ranked second in the top of the highest mountains in Cameroon, standing at 12,917 feet. The peak is situated near the Gulf of Guniea in the Fako department, which is part of the country's Southwest province. Bottle Peak is located at latitude 4.2141 and longitude 9.1769, with GPS coordinates of 04° 12′ 50.76′′ N and 09° 10′ 36.83′′ E.

The close environs of Bottle Peak are steep, with predominantly evergreen deciduous woodland, while the landscape surrounding the summit is mostly mountainous. The city of Buea, which is roughly 6.08 miles away, is the nearest city to the peak.

This 9.3-kilometer out-and-back track near Winter Park is worth a try. It takes an average of 3 hours and 6 minutes to finish this moderately difficult route. This is an excellent hiking track. The months of May through October are ideal for hiking this trek. Dogs are permitted, but they must be kept on a leash.

Oku Mountain, also known as Kilum Mountain, one of the highest mountains in Cameroon, rising to a height of 9,250 feet (2,819 meters). Oku is the largest of the four volcanoes that make up the Cameroon Volcanic Line's Oku Massif portion. The mountain is found in the Western High Plateau region of the country, which is characterized by mastiffs, mountains, and savanna flora.

A massive caldera cuts through the mountain, creating Lake Oku, a crater lake. The oldest rocks that make up the mountain are nearly 25 million years old, and the Kilum-Ijim forest, which is the biggest remaining remnant of montane forest in West Africa and home to several rare plant species, is located surrounding the peak. The area also features West Africa's highest spagnum (peat moss) bog.

The mountain of Mekua, at a height of 8,868 feet, ranked fourth among the highest mountains in Cameroon (2,702 meters).

The peak is near the community of Fontem in the Lebialem department, which is part of the country's South West Region. Towards the southwest, the terrain around Mekuna is mountainous, whereas in the northeast, the terrain is just hilly.

The majority of the region within the mountain's larger range is made up of savanna woodland.

Mekua is well-known for its extraordinary animal and plant species variety. The area is home to 27 different rodent species and six different shrew species. Ten of these species are indigenous to a specific area or region, are endangered or vulnerable, and have a declining population trend. As a result, they are regarded as having a high conservation value.

Mekua's importance as a conservation area for rodents and shrews is highlighted, as is evidence that owl predation on terrestrial small mammals is not a hazard to species of conservation concern at Mekua mountain.

Dent de Babadjou is one of the highest mountains in Cameroon, standing at an elevation of 8,734 feet. The mountain is located near the city of Mbouda in the Bamboutous department, which is part of the country's West Region.

Mbouda is the capital of Cameroon's West Province's Bamboutos department. Between 2020 and 2025, it is expected to develop at a rate of 5.16 percent, making it the fourteenth fastest growing city on the African continent.

The terrain surrounding the mountain is usually hilly, but it is much more mountainous in the west. The area around the mountain is rather thickly populated, with Mbouda, the nearest city, being 8.76 miles distant. In contrast to the more hilly terrain directly around the mountain, this area in the vicinity is largely made up of savanna woodland.
