Gran Piedra, located near the city of Santiago de Cuba, is Cuba's second highest peak. It stands at 4,098 feet above sea level and is part of the eastern Sierra Maestra. Gran Piedra is one of the world's largest monoliths, measuring 51 meters in length, 25 meters in height, and 30 meters in width.
The monolith, which is located within the Baconao National Park, is believed to weigh more than 63,000 tonnes. The evergreen mountain rainforest dominates the landscape around Gran Piedra. Mount Gran Piedra, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, is a popular tourist destination in Cuba.
The only way to get to the viewpoint is on foot. Some of the places that can be viewed from the summit of Gran Piedra include the French coffee plantation and the manor house.

On the Escambray Mountain Range, it is the highest summit. Pico San Juan is known for its steep slopes formed by skeletal soil. The mountain is dominated by ferns and big trees, forming an evergreen, humid tropical forest.
The mountain has a diverse wildlife, including some endemic and endangered species. Livestock husbandry, coffee cultivation, and forestry are some of the other economic activities that take place around the mountain.
