  1. Suur Munamägi, which translated to "Great Egg Mountain", is the highest peak in Estonia and the Baltic nations. It rises to a height of 318 meters (1,043 feet) above sea level. It is located near the hamlet of Haanja in Võru County in Estonia's south-eastern region, close to the Latvian and Russian borders. The Haanja Upland, which surrounds the summit, is gently hilly.

On the top of the Suur Munamägi there is an observation tower. The Suur Munamägi Observation Tower offers guests a spectacular 50-kilometer view of the Estonian landscape. The current tower was built in 1939 and rebuilt in 1969. It was refurbished in 2005 and an elevator was constructed into the rear of the tower, giving it a total height of 29.1 meters. Interesting fact: Standing on top of the tower, a person is 346.7 meters above sea level. The first tower was constructed in 1812. Suur Munamägi's height makes it one of Estonia's most prominent national emblems.

  2. Väike Munamägi is a hill in Estonia and has an elevation of 149 meters. Väike Munamägi is situated east of Lake Nüpli, and south of Alevijärv.

The view from the summit of Munamägi Hill is worth the effort. It covers more than 50 kilometers on a clear day. Väike or Otepää Munamägi Hill rises to a total height of 207.5 meters (relative height exceeds 80 m). For a long time, a spring on the north-eastern slope of Väike Munamägi (in the direction of Otepää) has been regarded as the beginning of the Väike Emajgi River. The rock on the edge of the first plain is the area's largest, weighing in at 250,000 kg.

A downhill skiing slope has been on the hill since the mid-1990s - for this purpose half of the slope was deforested, which caused a clear change to the landscape, and along with that - much opposition. In short, it is still it is one of the main tourist sites.

  3. Ebavere Hill is located in Lääne-Viru County, southwest of Väike-Maarja, near Ebavere. The altitude of Ebavere Hill is 146 meters above sea level, making it the third highest mountain in the Pandivere Uplands after Emumäe (166 m) and Kellavere Hill (156 m). The Ebavere landscape protection area has been established to protect the hill.

In 1836, Georg Magnus Knüpffer, who served as the pastor of Väike-Maarja at the time, hypothesized that Mount Ebavere was the place where, according to Henrik's "Livonian Chronicle", the great god of the islanders, Tarapita was born.

According to a competing hypothesis, Henrik could have considered the Blue Mountains of Vaivara.

The legend is based on the story of " Henrik's Livonian Chronicle ". Talking about his missionary work in Virumaa, he tells the story of how Tharapita flew to Saaremaa from a beautiful forest hill in Virumaa, where he was born according to the locals. According to the chronicle, the missionaries cut down images and statues of the gods on a mountain that the locals marveled that they would not bleed. After that, the local priests began to believe more in the sermons.
